"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman
who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth."
2 Timothy 2:15

About Awana

The AWANA name is derived from this scripture and is an acronym for the phrase: "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed". AWANA provides a fun, dynamic approach to learning God's word. The goal, as stated in our AWANA pledge, is to reach boys and girls for Christ and trained them to serve him. We frequently have theme nights, store nights, and special events such as the AWANA Grand Prix.

AWANA is divided into age groups called "clubs". Each club has a name, handbook, uniform, and activities for that age. Generally, clubbers will have an assembly time (for saying the Pledge of Allegiance, the AWANA Pledge, and the Pledge to the Bible), a time in their handbooks to work on memorizing scripture, and recreation time.
