"Learning the Truth, Loving the Truth, Living the Truth"
"Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity."
1 Timothy 4:12
What makes us special and stand out: You may ask what makes us special? It is a combination of our Christ centered teaching and our since of family and community. Our students are encouraged to grow in their firm foundation in Christ and how to work as a body. You may also be wondering why would your student want to come to our youth group and what will they learn from our ministry. Well to answer this we not only asked our youth we asked our youth pastor as well. When it comes to why your student would want to come it is due to our welcoming atmosphere, sound teaching, making it fun to learn God’s amazing word, and our memories we create together. Then for what will your student learn from our youth program? Our youth pastor summarized it into three main things. One is to learn who God is, second how to understand God’s amazing word, and thirdly how to live a Christ centered life. Our youth group aims to change youths lives for the better! We hope to see your student soon!
Youth Activities: We offer additional activities for our youth members to help them learn about God and to have fun doing it! For the Valentine banquet our youth have a dinner together and learn about God’s love. Alongside this our amazing youth pastor sets up many fun activities to get our students involved! For our study and swim our students get the opportunity to teach a lesson with help from our youth pastor and from another student. This happens during the summer months. Then our parent student dinner we have a dinner together and the students brings one parent with them. During this event students will learn about etiquette and we celebrate graduating youth! We also host a middle school trip for our younger students between 7th- 8th grade. This is a fun and interactive way for them to learn about biblical times and what their lives might have been like by visiting the Biblical Museum. All of these activities and locations are subject to change.
- Thursday Prayer Breakfast: Usually held Thursday mornings before school starts, the prayer breakfast is a special time in which the students spend time in prayer and scripture. This activity is currently in the process of determining students’ availability.
- Winter Retreat statement: The goal for our students’ during winter retreat is to grow in our faith. We want to help our students have a firm foundation in Christ. During this weekend we focus on team building and bonding together. By encouraging our youth to build relationships with each other they learn that they have family within the group. We do this by doing many outdoor activities and team building excises (i.e., group interactive games, bible studies, and various other activities). This weekend trip helps students get out of their shell!
- Mission Fuge (MFuge) statement: Our goal for our students’ during MFuge is to learn about Jesus, worship him, and to spread his gospel and love. Our goal is to grow spiritually as a body and for our youth to have stories to tell for years to come! We do many different outreaches through service and mission works. Some of the outreaches we offer are construction work to better help the community, to help with children’s programs, and to help with sports and activities.
- International Missions: Involves yearly trips to various places such as Hungary, Jamaica, and possibly Peru in 2023 where the youth help local families and churches. This is a great outreach we offer for our high school students. Our mission and goals with this ministry is to spread Christ’s love and gospel. This helps our high schoolers with leadership, ministry, volunteer work, and enriching not only our students but those who they come in contact with.
Volunteer Opportunities: Our goal is to help our students hone the gifts that God gave them. Some of the volunteer/ministries opportunities we offer include but are limited too: a decorating team, puppets, praise team, set up and clean up team, and a media team. Those who participate in the decorating team are able to help decorate the youth room as well as give ideas for decorating projects. For puppets you are able to work more with children and work in two of our outreaches; Camp Christmas and Camp Resurrection. In praise team students are able to use their musical talent to lead the youth group into lessons on Wednesday nights and preform at our church Chrismon service. Praise team can also be an opportunity for our students to transition into our adult praise team and choir. Our set up and clean up team gives students a chance to participate in multiple church actives allowing them to become more familiar with other parts of church activities. Then our media team helps with our page, take photos of our events and any other media activities that come along within the youth group. Being a part of the media team allows further opportunities to transition into our church media.
Up Coming Events: Valentine banquet, Winter Retreat (Late Winter), parent student dinner (Late Spring), Mission Fuge (Early Summer), study and swim (During Summer), and the middle school trip (During Summer). (Dates will vary)
