In this section of Chapter 1, Paul presses forward on the idea of the power of the gospel. For the world, the cross is “folly,” but for believers it is the “power of GOD.” How can such a chasm exist? Is the gospel not a reasonable proposition which people can understand? Does having a high I.Q. or high social position disqualify a person to believe the message of the cross? Paul poses this dilemma and sets the table for the radical and revolutionary idea of Christians and the gospel in the next sections (1:26-2:5).

In this message, we are exploring the antithetical positions of human wisdom and the Gospel of GOD.
